Fundamentally...

An Eight Channels Record project implies that there are no more than eight channels of multitracked audio per song. This may sound absurd to modern recordists, but some of the best records of all time were made using tape recorders that had eight channels or less.

Do we hate computers?

Not at all! Although Eight Channel Records has a strong affinity for analog recording methodologies, we do not advocate for abandoning digital tools. Embrace technology, but exercise caution regarding the extent to which computers intervene between you and your musical creations.

Is Eight Channels enough?

In the analog realm, bouncing tracks on top of one another to open up more tracks on your tape machine is highly encouraged as a way to not only commit to sounds early on, but to creatively open up more tracks for additional recording.
